Civil Work

Home » Civil Work

Civil work is work that is settled and easily changed at home. This includes tiling, bathroom renovation, breaking any walls, fixing the kitchen platform, electrical work, etc. It is usually more messy and tedious compared to other things like furniture and the kitchen. Usually, when you buy a new flat from a builder, He will give it to you after the civil work is done so you should focus on the woodwork like furniture and kitchen. During the construction process, you can ask the builder to place the tiles, fittings, etc. of your choice.

CIVIL-WORK - leenus india

Civil work usually takes a long time to complete. This creates a lot of confusion in the house, which affects the existing furniture. Day laborers who do civil works related to masonry work are very difficult to work with, and it is difficult to get this labor on your own. It also requires some schedule as multiple teams need to work in parallel and in sync to complete the task. For example, once the bathroom tiles are broken, the piping will need to be done and the masons will have to come back to fix the new tiles; Electrical work must be completed before the first coat of plastering and paint; Electrical pipes should be laid on the floor before laying tiles on them, etc.

As in our case, since we bought the old flat, we decided to do the whole civil work to get a new feel to the place. First, we decided to redo the tiles and bathrooms which means breaking down the existing tiles and bathrooms. Note that breakage adds significantly to cost and time. All existing objects should be disassembled, removed from the flat, and disposed of at the proper dumpsite using special temps that do this work. In our case, most of the delays were due to civil works. The material was not ordered in time, some of it was defective and had to be returned, the workers disappeared. The visible progress was minimal and seemed to take forever to get things done. I wrote more about the details of each aspect of the civil work.
